M.U.S.E.

About

M.U.S.E. is another tactical third-person shooter developed in the Unity engine. The game takes place in a futuristic city where an evil villain named Psychosis has created an army of robotic soldiers so that he can take over the world. You play as Sid Tripp,a member of the government agency called M.U.S.E. His task is to stop the robotic attacks and eliminate the threat of Psychosis.

Positives

The game is very beautiful on my iPod touch. The environments are detailed and a nice effect is added when the character enters Adrenaline Mode. The gameplay is also unique. While the base of the game remains a shooter, the player is rewarded for getting combos which will raise the players final score at the end of a mission. The destructible environments also ensures that bullets don’t have to be wasted on each enemy seperately but can be used to take out multiple robots. IAPs are also available but these are not necessary and are just there to give some players a boost.

Negatives

The controls for me just aren’t responsive enough. The movement of the character feels awkward and rolling, while necessary doesn’t feel right. There also is a bit of lag in the game but it isn’t a game-breaker.

Final Verdict

M.U.S.E. is a well done shooter that ranks up there with the best. It doesn’t try to copy any old formula but comes up with something new and interesting itself. Even for the current price the game it is well worth it. The controls may take some getting used to, but once you do you will have a solid shooter on your hands.
